     With that basic premise in mind, please let me introduce our company, Northwest Security & Sound, Inc. 

     We are a locally owned and operated electronic security and fire alarm installation and service company that has been serving Whatcom, Skagit, Island and San Juan Counties from our office in Bellingham since 1990.      In keeping with our dedication to serving our customers, we feel the following items are important:

    - your security company should be accessible to you without having to call a toll free number and navigate a voice mail system who knows where in the country. Our toll free number (1-800-244-9689) goes to our office in Bellingham and is there for the convenience of our customers outside our local calling area. During normal working hours, our office staff can answer any questions you may have ( with proper identification, of course). Outside of normal working hours, a 24-hour answering service with real people answering the phones can take your message or contact our on-call service technician.

     - your security company should have a local office where local decisions can be made and local technicians can be dispatched if necessary. Our office in Bellingham is the center of our business, where our management, sales staff, customer service, billing, and technical staff can talk to each other face to face to ensure that you, our clients, receive the highest quality service possible.
 

     Something else to keep in mind is that Washington State has certain qualifications that must be met in order to legally supply security services. Northwest Security & Sound, Inc. is fully licensed, bonded and insured in accordance with state law:

     - we have a business license. This may seem elementary, but there are persons offering security sales and service around here who are not to be found in the state business dirctory. 
     - we have an electrical contractors license. Most people don't know that security system wiring and equipment falls under the Department of  Labor & Industries definition of electrical equipment for purposes of licensing and compliance with the National Electrical Code.
     - we have licensed journeyman electricians and a licensed electrical administrator. The person working with equipment or wiring must be a low voltage electrician licensed by the Department of Labor & Industries. A minimum of 2 years experience and succesful passage of a written test covering the NEC and basic alarm system knowledge. Additionally, continuing education is a requirement to maintain the jouneyman's license.
